The Appalachian State Mountaineers football team is the Division 1 NCAA team representing Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina as part of the Sun Belt Conference. The Mountaineers football team plays their home games in Kidd Brewer Stadium, named after their former head coach whose 1937 team was undefeated during the regular season. The Appalachian State Mountaineers football program has a rich history and won three consecutive national championships as part of the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). They transitioned to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and the Sun Belt Conference in 2014. Since then, they have gone undefeated in their bowl games at 6-0.
