The Arizona Cardinals battle in the Western Division of the National Football League’s, National Football Conference (NFC West). Division rivals include the Los Angeles Rams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Seattle Seahawks. The Cardinals won seven Division titles and won the Conference championship in 2008. They also won two NFL championships prior to the NFL/AFL merger in 1970. 

The Cardinals have a long history and have been in uninterrupted operation longer than any other franchise in the league. The Cardinals franchise began in Chicago, IL, in 1898, originally established as an amateur, neighborhood team. At that time player and team organizer Chris O’Brien took over the operation and moved the home field in 1901. Known then as the Racine Cardinals, the team became an original charter member of the NFL and is one of two franchises to remain operational since the league was founded in 1920. 

The Arizona Cardinals have been in contention for over a century and fans have seen the team through it all. Home games at State Farm Stadium are packed with roaring fans who have remained loyal through the team’s field changes. Beginning in Chicago, the Cardinals moved to St. Louis in 1960. From there the Cards moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1988 before ultimately ending up in Glendale, Arizona. Glendale welcomed the Arizona Cardinals in 2006, becoming the fourth city to allow the franchise to call it home.
