The Cleveland Cavaliers are an American professional basketball team that competes in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Eastern Conference. The team plays their home games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Cavaliers were established in 1970 as an expansion team, along with the Portland Trail Blazers and the Buffalo Braves. In 2003 the Cavaliers drafted LeBron James, the franchise’s greatest player. The team has won five Conference Championships, and one NBA title, all with James. In 2016, the franchise won its lone title, defeating the 73-9 Golden State Warriors.

Cleveland looks to take a step forward after finishing 22-50 last season. The Cavs are led by numerous young players who look to finally make an impact for a winning team. Cleveland signed recent trade acquisition Jarrett Allen to a five year $100 million extension. Allen is one of the league’s best rim protectors, who boosted his scoring after the trade to Cleveland. The Cavs have another young big man in Evan Mobley with the third selection in this year’s draft. The team hopes Mobley can one day become the face of the franchise. Former first round picks Darius Garland and Collin Sexton represent the team’s backcourt duo. Both players took massive steps forward last season, and look to improve even more. Veteran Kevin Love who started on the 2016 championship team is still with the Cavs. The team also acquired Lauri Markkanen and Ricky Rubio in the offseason.
