The Oklahoma City Thunder are an American professional basketball team that competes in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Western Conference. The Thunder plays their home games at Paycom Center. The team was established in 1967 as the Seattle Supersonics, an expansion team that joined alongside the San Diego Rockets. The Supersonics won the NBA championship in 1979, defeating the Washington Bullets. The 1979 team was led by hall of famers Dennis Johnson and Jack Sikma. In 2008 the franchise relocated to Oklahoma City, becoming the Thunder.
