The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team represents Syracuse University in NCAA Division I men’s basketball. The Orange Basketball team was established in 1898 and has been a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) since 2013. Syracuse plays its home games at the Carrier Dome. The Carrier Dome is the largest arena in NCAA Division I basketball with a capacity of 35,642. Syracuse has had a winning record in fifty one consecutive seasons.

Syracuse is coached by Jim Boeheim who enters his forty-fifth season with the team. Under Boeheim, Syracuse has appeared in the NCAA tournament thirty-four times, and the final four five times. Led by Carmelo Anthony, Syracuse won the National Championship in 2003. Boeheim has also led Syracuse to five conference tournament championships. Last season, the team’s leading scorer was Boheim’s son, Buddy. Buddy is returning to Syracuse for his senior season in 2022. Boeheim signed Maryland native Benny Williams last summer, who is debuting this season for the Orange. The IMG alum is a four star power forward who was ranked the thirty second best player in the 2021 recruiting class by ESPN. Syracuse is always a threat with Jim Boeheim behind the bench, and the father son duo with Buddy looks to lead Syracuse to a deep run in 2022.
